IEP Day

Involved Exceptional Parents' Day (IEP Day) is a unique one-day conference for parents of children with special needs and the professionals who work with them. Nearly 300 parents and professionals come together each year, to learn in a collaborative effort. The IEP Day Planning Committee will hold its 32st Annual Conference on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley, San Diego. The theme of the Conference is "Circles of Support: Families, Communities and Providers."

CONFERENCE DETAILS:

Sandra McElwee, author of "Who's the Slow Learner? A Chronicle of Inclusion and Exclusion", will chronicle her experiences with the education system from elementary through high school, sharing what worked well for her and her son and what challenges she faced especially in secondary education.

 

We will have two concurrent sessions, one for parents and one for educators.  In the afternoon, both parents and educators will convene for discussion and activities about hopes, dreams and challenges.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

Early Bird Registration for parents is $15 and ends on November 7th.  After November 7th, registration is $20 (online or at the door).

Early Bird Registration for educators is free and ends on November 7th.  After November 7th, registration is $15 (online or at the door).

Parents who bring their child's educator and all educators who attend will be entered into a drawing for a great raffle prize.
